Our workshops are designed for actors, writers, clowns, acrobats, directors, performers and anyone wishing to expand and re-focus their skills base in a fun, supportive and focused environment. At Hurrah Hurrah we work from a foundation of 'gentle rigour'. We are not here to break you down, we're here to build you up through rigorous practice that centres the human being. Our workshops are based on an amalgam of influences including Jacques Lecoq, Phillipe Gaulier, Martial Arts, Linklater, The Viewpoints, various improvisation & clowning practices, stand up, dance, music, great writers and our own rehearsal room experiments.
We have delivered workshops for artists and in community settings including:
NIDA, Sydney Theatre School, Sydney Film School, TAFE QLD, Riverside Theatres Parramatta, The Joan, Drama NSW, Drama VIC, Langues en Scène (Paris), Murray Arts/Hothouse Theatre, The Starlight Foundation, Clown Doctors Australia, The Sydney Opera House
...and in countless independent workshops and schools.
The students had so many good things to say about the work they did . There was a lot of learning going on. Alison really connected with the students, drew new and exciting work from each of them and really established clowning as such an important element of and contributor to their work as actors.
Patrick Mitchell, Course Coordinator, Bachelor Creative Industries (Acting & Performance ) TAFE QLD in conjunction with the University of Canberra
